Position Description:

The primary responsibility of the Advocate is to initiate, organize, plan, develop, and implement direct advocacy services to assigned clients and their families. All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.

Company Information: Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. (YAP) is one of the largest non-profit Youth and Family Support agencies working with high-risk youth and their families in the United States. Currently, YAP employs more than 2,000 dedicated workers and serves approximately 10,000 families per year.  Our mission is to engage human service systems so that they rely less on institutional care and invest more in supporting families and neighborhoods. We currently work with child welfare, juvenile justice, behavioral health, disability, primary health care, and education systems to develop and offer community-based alternatives for the highest risk children, young people, young adults and families, and adults.


Summary of the Position: Hourly Part Time Advocates to serve youth and families throughout Tarrant and Johnson County, Texas are available. Applicant must be dependable, committed and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings. Requirements are as follows: Must have access to an insured vehicle with current, valid driver’s license. Bilingual is preferred but not required. A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required. Pass Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances. The position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay and activity reimbursement.


Required Qualifications:

Qualifications/Requirements: High School Diploma or GED is required. Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and car insurance with bodily injury liability limits of $100,000/$300,000. This position requires background checks to be completed.
