Ulster County YAP teamed up with local business in an effort to collect new toys from community members. Multiple local businesses agreed to display gift drop boxes for three weeks and were able to accrue more than $300 worth of gifts for youth ranging in ages from 1 to 18.
After the gifts were collected, YAP youth met at the program office and wrapped all of the donated gifts.
Local firefighters who were running a toy drive happily accepted the collected the gifts from the youth on December 21st. The firefighters brought an engine for the kids to see. The fire department delivered the items to 25 local children whose families could not afford the expense of holiday gifts.
Thanks to Ulster County YAP, eleven families in the Ulster community were able to enjoy watching their children open gifts on Christmas Day.
