YAP Program Director Vivian Davis appealed to her Walker County AL community to help a family in need.  A couple was awarded custody of their 4 grandchildren, but did not have a home large enough to accommodate them.  Without intervention, the children would have been placed in foster care.  Thanks to the Woodland Trace Church or Christ, an addition is being built to the home where they can live comfortably as a family.   "Let's give them all the resources and all the tools and all the support ...

Marshall County Delivers Blessings in a Backpack

Youth and staff from Marshall County partnered with Blessings in a Backpack to distribute food to elementary school children to ensure that they are fed over the weekends.  They helped in a number of ways - some unloaded food trucks at the packing site, some helped in the assembly line packing the pags, and some distributed the bags in the classrooms.

Youth from the juvenile probation program in Cullman County assembled candygrams for local community resources.  They then delivered the gifts to their local police departments, juvenile probation officers, fire departments, emergency responders, and the Department of Human Resources.

Baldwin County: Superheroes Fighting Hunger

Baldwin County YAP sponsored a 1 mile Fun Run at the Fairhope Pier on Oct. 10, 2015. Proceeds from the "Superheros Fighting Hunger" benefitted the Annual Community Blessings 10,000lb Food and Toy giveaway. Staff also collected canned goods. Participants in the run were encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero. Fairhope Police department, Refuge for Woman, Baldwin County Probation, PNC Bank, Knights of Columbus, Calvary Chapel church and Piggly Wiggly all donated and helped out in the gra...
