Youth from the juvenile probation program in Cullman County assembled candygrams for local community resources.  They then delivered the gifts to their local police departments, juvenile probation officers, fire departments, emergency responders, and the Department of Human Resources.

Ramona Riggs, a former juvenile-justice involved youth and participant in the Cullman County YAP program in Alabama, took time to share her story with advocates at a recent staff meeting.  "Ramona is doing AMAZING and speaking regularly about what all she has overcome," noted Wendy Baker, Assistant Director.

Baldwin County: Superheroes Fighting Hunger

Baldwin County YAP sponsored a 1 mile Fun Run at the Fairhope Pier on Oct. 10, 2015. Proceeds from the "Superheros Fighting Hunger" benefitted the Annual Community Blessings 10,000lb Food and Toy giveaway. Staff also collected canned goods.Participants in the run were encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero. Fairhope Police department, Refuge for Woman, Baldwin County Probation, PNC Bank, Knights of Columbus, Calvary Chapel church and Piggly Wiggly all donated and helped out in the grand...

Marshall County Participates in United Way Day of Caring

Staff volunteered to assist two hospice families on United Way's Day of Caring.  Staff cleaned the houses, worked in the yards and cooked for the patients in their home.  It was a wonderful experience and staff plan to do it again next year.

Walker County Gives Back to Senior Citizens

Youth from Walker County held a raffle and a car wash to raise funds for their give back activity.  After speaking with the Jasper Senior Center Program on Aging, YAP decided to host an Elvis For Seniors event.  It was opened to all the seniors in the area and gave them a chance to interact with the youth.  The teens escorted attendees from the door to their tables.  Participants enjoyed beverages and a light lunch.  In addition, the seniors were treated to a show by Elvis impersonator Terry Tur...
