Today the National Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Coalition (NJJDPC), a collaboration of many organizations working together to develop consensus on federal juvenile justice policy, released its recommendations to the 113th Congress, Promoting Safe Communities. Colorado Avalanche Donate Tickets to YAP Youth

A group of 34 YAP Adams County, CO youth will see the Colorado Avalanche play the Edmonton Oilers tonight.  "Quality Time," a youth program sponsored by the Avalanche and the Colorado Beef Council, has donated tickets in one of the Pepsi Center's best seating sections, along with transportation, T-shirts, and food vouchers, to YAP. Atlantic City YAP Receives Grant for Computers

3/12/13  YAP's Atlantic City program was awarded a $38,000 grant from the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.  The funds will go toward a new state-of-the art computer lab. Said Director Lamont Fauntleroy, the computer lab will "help young people as far as jobs are concerned...applications are electronic, and some of the our kids...aren't able to have their own computers at home."  More.  Watch local NBC news video.

KIDS COUNT Data Snapshot Looks at Safe Drop in Youth Incarceration

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. joins the Annie E. Casey Foundation in raising awareness of the declining youth incarceration rate in the United States. In its latest KIDS COUNT data snapshot, the Casey Foundation finds that the rate of young people locked up because they were in trouble with the law dropped more than 40 percent over a 15-year period, with no decrease in public safety.
