In 2011, YAP opened West Virginia Counseling and Advocacy services to provide Socially Necessary Services (SNS) to youth and families involved with the Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) who reside in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. The vast array of services include supervised visitation, parenting skills, and direct support to children among others.
In 2013, YAP obtained our Behavioral Health license and began providing Individual Counseling and Therapeutic Behavioral Supports in the office and in home and community settings for youth with intensive needs.
We serve individuals across the lifespan- from infants to seniors- in Berkeley, Morgan and Jefferson counties. Our referrals can come directly from families seeking help, community entities, such as schools, hospitals, and doctor's offices, and from the Department of Health and Human Resources.
