Congratulations to Noah Ortiz, Lebanon County YAP’s first Day Treatment graduate. The Re-entry treatment Center/Community Treatment Center began in July 2014 as an alternative to residential treatment for juvenile offenders in Lebanon County. Currently, 13 youth participate in the program in as much as 25 hours a week.
“I’m proud to be the first graduate,” said Noah. “The program helped me stay out of trouble because I’m not on the streets. I’m looking forward to getting off of probation." Program youth participate in a variety of evidence-based treatment curriculums that include Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, Core Correctional Practices, Thinking for Change, Aggression Replacement Training (ART), Relapse Prevention, and Ansell Casey Life Skills. All services are geared toward the juvenile and family to address criminogenic needs, community safety, family functioning and other specific needs such as mental health and substance abuse.
“I’m not sure how things would have turned out if Noah was just turned loose into the community without the structure,” said Heather Hernandez, Noah’s mother. “It’s a great program."
