The University of Texas/San Antonio, in partnership with Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. (YAP), received one of five Mentoring Research Best Practice grant awards from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The two-year study will identify core features of YAP's intervention model and compare the impact of YAP services with youth being served in other community programs. Advocate programs from the following cities will serve as sites for the study: Las Vegas; Toledo, OH; Ft. Worth; Atlantic City, NJ; and Mobile, AL. For more information, contact Dr. Michael Marks, Chief Development Officer/National Director of Research, 518-932-8269.
