A Second Chance to "Pay it Forward" for NJ Teens

0 Comments | | Return|

The restorative justice project in Cumberland County, dubbed "Pay It Forward," allows law enforcement officials to refer youth to YAP to organize group and individual service projects benefiting both the community and youth participants. If the youth successfully complete the YAP program - including community service and counseling - and remain arrest-free, their charges may be dismissed. Funded by the Cumberland County Youth Services Advisory Council (YSAC), the program will provide diversion services to 40 youth a year in Cumberland County who have been arrested for minor offenses.

For more information, contact Mary Ann Hamidy, Cumberland County YAP Director, 856-691-1540.
